This paper tends to make earthquake risk assessment in Pyay City. The results will be in useful in developing comprehensive risk reduction programs addressing the specific vulnerabilities in the city. The risk assessment will guide to future development in the cities along with UN-Habitat’s Myanmar Comprehensive Disaster Risk Reduction Programme and also with broader DRR activities and those of Government.

All cities aspire to be great cities. This pocket guide aims to demon-strate why resilience is for everyone and for every city. While there is often an emphasis on planning for resilience in the world’s most rapidly urbanizing areas, many of the case studies featured here ex-press the need for, and value of, resilience building in those regions where urban population growth has peaked.

This issue guide focuses attention on Urban Risk Reduction and Rehabilitation in order to broadly outline the where and how of gender responsive interventions to strengthen planned and future actions to advance gender equality and women’s empowerment.

This photo book showcases 10 months of project implementation where the human spirit of the target population was united to work for the improvement of their communities, 502 villages across Matupi, Mindat Townships of Chin State, Mansi, Momauk, Waingmaw, and Shwegu of Kachin State, Pekon, Pindaya, Pinlaung Townships of Shan State, and Demoso Township of Kayah State. Approximately 50,000 families representing 250,000 individuals were benefited from the programme.

Developed with the collaboration of 14 UN agencies, this guide aims to support UN Country Teams (UNCTs) across the Asia-Pacific in the design and delivery of urban programmes that are effective, integrated and multi-sectoral.
