Government of India supports housing efforts in Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka Housing2Colombo 19 February 2015 - The Government of India in June 2010 announced that it would construct 50,000 houses as part of its post-conflict rehabilitation efforts. The Project is being implemented as full grant assistance amounting to USD 250 million from the Government of India, making it one of the largest grant assistance projects ever undertaken by the Government of India, overseas.

UN Report Calls for Wastewater Focus in Post-2015 Agenda

Nairobi, 2 February 2015 - Only 20 per cent of global wastewater is currently being treated, leaving low-income countries hardest hit by contaminated water supplies and disease, according to a UN report which encourages governments to see treated wastewater as a valuable resource, and a priority for the post-2015 development agenda.

UN-Habitat Executive Director concludes Official Mission to Sudan

UN-Habitat and ILO hold green youth entrepreneurship training in Tanzania

Dar es Salaam, 14 January 2015 - About 50 young men and women from Dar es Salaam participated in a hands-on training on energy efficiency, renewable energy technologies and green entrepreneurship held last month.
The training organized by UN-Habitat in collaboration with the International Labour Organization was held at the Vocational Educational Training Authority in Dar es Salaam.
