Youths in Nigeria trained in renewable energy technologies and green entrepreneurship

Abuja, 12 January 2017 – The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), in partnership with the Federal Government of Nigeria, conducted hands-on training in energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies, green entrepreneurship and enterprise development for 125 selected youths drawn from 26 States across the Nigeria in Abuja in December.

Belmopan / UN-Habitat collaboration to update the Master Plan of the Capital of Belize

UN-Habitat’s Urban Planning and Design team visited the City of Belmopan in Belize last week in order to approve and discuss the draft new Master Plan for the city. The team, comprising of UN-Habitat’s Climate Change Planning Unit and the Urban Planning Lab was supported by experts from the Arcadis Shelter Programme.

Publications supporting the spatial planning initiatives in Palestine launched

Ramallah, December 19, 2016 - UN-Habitat and its national partner, State of Palestine Ministry of Local Government launched two new publications under the framework of the joint cooperation to defend and advocate for the planning rights of Palestinian communities in Area C of the West Bank that is effectively controlled by the Israeli authorities.

Asia Pacific Ministerial Conference Adopts the NEW DELHI DECLARATION on Housing and Urban Development

New Delhi, 16 December 2016 – Ministers of Housing and Urban Development in Asia Pacific have endorsed the New Delhi declaration and implementation plan which outline the way forward for countries in the region to implement the New Urban Agenda, which was signed in Quito at the Habitat III conference in October this year.
