Nairobi, 13 April 2015— Important international debate around sustainable urban development got underway on Monday as UN-Habitat prepared to hold the second preparatory meeting of the Habitat III conference as well as the 25th session of the Governing Council.
Namibian policy makers benefit from a workshop on housing the poor
Windhoek, 27th March 2015 – Over 30 Namibian government officials, policy makers, members of parliament and councilors last week attended a workshop where they were trained on housing the poor. The three day workshop was organised by UN-Habitat together with Namibian Association of Local Authority Officers (NALAO), the Polytechnic of Namibia, Shack Dwellers Federation of Namibia (SDFN) and Namibia Housing Action Group (NHAG).
Experts from Eastern Europe discuss preparations for Habitat III
Minsk, 25 March 2015 - National coordinators and experts from Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova and Russia met in the Republic of Belarus, earlier this month to discuss preparations for the Habitat III, the United Nations Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development. The participants discussed the draft national reports for Habitat III as well as the first regional conclusions, important steps on the road to the conference.
