The Global Urban Competitiveness Report（GUCR） is a cooperative research conducted by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and UN-Habitat focusing on sustainable urban competitiveness, urban land and urban finance. Led by Mr. Marco Kamiya and Prof. Ni Pengfei, the project is participated by experts from CASS, UNHabitat and well-known scholars in relevant fields.

Through a comparative analysis of the 19 cities of the Global Future Cities Programme, the report shares experiences and knowledge gained during the Programme’s Strategic Development Phase. It identifies common urban trends in urban planning, mobility, resilience and data, as well as underlying systemic barriers and enablers for sustainable urban development observed across the Global Future Cities.

The Financial Sustainability Strategy for Kalobeyei Settlement aims to support the implementation of the “Kalobeyei Settlement Advisory Development Plan” developed by UN-Habitat, which provides a long-term and integrative approach to guide appropriate development for the Kalobeyei Settlement in Turkana, Kenya.
