The purpose of this Programmatic Guidance Note is to provide assistance to UN-Habitat staff for the promotion and protection of human rights.

This joint publication “Unpacking Metropolitan Governance for Sustainable Development” is the product of a close cooperation between GIZ and UN-Habitat. This guidebook on integrating climate change into city development strategies (CDS) attempts to provide a modest input into the effort of unifying two key thematic areas, Climate Change and City Development Strategies. This attempt of climate proofing city development strategies is an ongoing process and requires additional effort by governments, academia, and city development partners worldwide.

Ending the AIDS epidemic in cities will have profound, long-lasting benefits for countless urban communities across the globe. But the AIDS response can also play another transformative role, as a pathfinder for broader health and development gains in urban areas.

آینده افغانستان با زندگی شهری گره خورده، انتظارمیرود تا طی 15 سال آینده جمعیت شهرهای افغانستان دوچند گردد و درسال 2060 این جمعیت به 50 فیصد زندگی شهری تبدیل شود. اسکان شهری میتواند منبع انکشاف باشد، که نه تنها به سادگی مشکلی است که باید حل وفصل شود. تبدیل اجتناب ناپذیر اسکان شهری فرصت ها و چالشهایی داده شده را درشکل فعلی و ساختارشهرهای عمده، ارایه مینماید.

UN Habitat has been working in the eastern DRC since 2009, and the purpose of this study is to help better understand and integrate gender issues into existing programming, and to guide future activities to improve and support women’s access to land in the region.

The overall objective of the study was to sensitize and strengthen the response and capacity of governments and stakeholders in the Kathmandu Valley to the impacts of climate change.
