On 28th and 29th September 2020, UN-Habitat and Turkana County Government hosted a two-day virtual workshop to receive feedback and facilitate discussions with County officials on the potential land-use proposals based on existing situational analysis as well as proposals provided by stakeholders from previous multi-sector meetings. This plan would also support the County Government for the conferment process of the proposed Kakuma-Kalobeyei Municipality.

Between 2017 to 2019, UN-Habitat and Shigeru Ban developed shelter typologies in Kalobeyei New Settlement, Kenya. The first part of the book is a journal by Philippe Monteil, Shigeru Ban’s partner - it describes successes and failures with building pilot houses, and the influence of the context in the process. The second part is a detailed Manual which explains in a sequence of steps, how to build the final housing prototype.

Nairobi’s Public Open Space ecosystem is a complex tapestry of natural and environmental contrasts. It includes diverse typologies such as urban forests, cemeteries, parks and gardens, squares and courtyards among others. Overall, there are 826 public open spaces in the city county, covering a combined area of 3106.4Ha. This is equiva¬lent to 5.32 percent of the built-up area and translates to 6.56 square metres per capita public open space.
