World Urban Forum 11 Newsletter Vol. 3

The countdown to the opening of the eleventh World Urban Forum (WUF11), the premier global meeting on urban issues, has begun. WUF11 will open in the City of Katowice, Poland on 26 June 2022. The Forum will run to 30 June under the theme “Transforming Our Cities for a Better Urban Future.”

Over the next twelve months we will open the registration for the huge number of events and meetings taking place during WUF11 including dialogues, special sessions, side events, exhibitions and much more. This will be followed by registration for thousands of delegates including policy makers, mayors, academics, business people, community leaders, urban planners and many others.

UN-Habitat and Red Cross To Partner on Post-Disaster Housing

Sendai, 19 March 2015 – UN-Habitat and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding that they will work together on promoting adequate shelter and settlements for all, with a focus on people affected by natural and man-made disasters.

The Fourth Session of the World Urban Forum held in Nanjing, China from 3-6 November 2008 drew nearly 8,000 participants from 146 countries. The Forum, held every two years, is now established as the world’s premier conference on cities.
