This report summarises the proceedings of the EGM, highlighting case studies, best practices, and recommendations from experts and participants.

This guide is intended for governments that want to take more responsibility over the public transport services being operated in their cities: in particular, cities where the bus systems are currently informal and unregulated. The pillars of public transport regulation and business planning in this guide are based on the authors’ experience with bus and BRT systems across both the developed and developing world.

The 4 August 2020 Port of Beirut explosions resulted in devastating loss of life, injury and the destruction of vast tracts of urban fabric within the Municipality of Beirutand beyond. Based on initial assessment undertaken by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MEHE), and according to UNESCO, within a 20km radius of the blast, around 80 per cent of schools experienced moderate damage and 20 per cent sustained heavy damage.

Subnational Urban Policy: A Guide, is an instrument to support urban management for governments and stakeholders, especially at the subnational level. It is based on experiences collected at different levels of sub-national governments and regions around the world. It broadens knowledge and commitment to better understand what subnational urban policies are, what they are for, who benefits from them, and the problems they try to solve.

The framework will guide member States in the region in adapting their plans to the existing context at the subregional, national and subnational levels. It encourages coherence and harmonized implementation of human settlement commitments along the urban-rural continuum, in alignment with African priorities and multiple global commitments.

The Urban-LEDS project Phase II (“Accelerating climate action through the promotion of urban low emission development strategies” 2017-2021) aims to contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) and enhancing climate change resilience by the promotion of Urban Low Emissions Development Strategies (Urban LEDS) and climate action plans (CAPs) in cities/towns in emerging economies and Least Developed Countries (LDC).

This Guidance Note provides colleagues, partners and stakeholders with practical information and key entry points to strengthen innovation within their programme and project processes and outcomes to accelerate sustainable urbanization. The Guidance Note also provides a checklist to engage on the recommended Principles for Digital Development as they develop their projects and programmes.

This end-term Project evaluation of the “Fostering Tenure Security and Resilience of Palestinian Communities through Spatial-Economic Planning Interventions in Area C”, West Bank, Palestine for the period of 2017-2020 focused on the assessment of the results achieved and the lessons learnt from the implementation of the of the Project.

This is a final evaluation report of the “Making Cities Sustainable and Resilient” project, which was jointly implemented by UN-Habitat and UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) in the period of 2016-2020. The project aimed at improving the understanding of, and capacity to address disaster at local level, particularly in crisis cities to support national disaster risk reduction (DRR) and Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) strategies.
