UN-Habitat and FUPOL close pilot project
Mtwapa, Kenya 28 September 2015-- UN-Habitat and its partner Future Policy Modeling (FUPOL) are at the closing stages of a ground breaking pilot project in Kenya’s Kilifi County at the coast. UN-Habitat entered into a partnership with FUPOL in 2013 to use the experience it has gained in the use of latest ICT and to address the issue of e-participation in developing cities.

Community Information Center formally opened in Nepal’s Sindhupalchowk district
Sindhupalchowk , Nepal 25 September 2015-- The Community Information Center (CIC) was officially opened to the public last week at Sipapokhare Village Development Committee (VDC) of Sindhupalchowk district, some 66 kilometers from Kathmandu. One more such CIC is also established at Irkhu VDC of the same district.
Iraqi officials attend workshop on solutions for informal settlements
Baghdad, 22 September 2015 – Some 50 officials drawn from the government and local authorities on Sunday participated in a seminar on the“Legal and Financial Frameworks to Address Solutions for Informal Settlements and Displacement Areas”
The seminar was organised by UN-Habitat in partnership with the Ministry of Planning and the Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration (US Department of State) and was aimed at supporting the Iraqi Government and local authorities to address durable solutions in informal settlements and IDP areas in addition to providing tenure security.
