The guide on urban profiling for local authorities in Turkey, by UN-Habitat and SKL International’s RESLOG Turkey, builds upon UN-Habitat’s extensive global experience on urban and neighborhood profiling. Urban profiling provides a basis for decision making towards sustainable urban development and supporting the collaboration of all relevant stakeholders in the humanitarian-development nexus.

This publication highlights strategies and lessons from UN-Habitat’s Urban Planning and Design Lab to guide practitioners and to clarify the role that urban planning plays in developing holistic post-crisis responses. It outlines the ten strategies and three typologies of support that the Lab has found most useful in post-crisis contexts.
