Bonn, 13 November 2017 – At a day dedicated to cities and climate change, UN-Habitat’s Deputy Executive Director highlighted the importance of engaging women in climate action.
The first high-level day of the UN’s COP23 climate change summit focused on Sustainable Development Goal 11, an opportunity to promote the linkage between cities and climate change.
Bonn, 12 November 2017 – City commitments to reducing global greenhouse gas emissions announced at the UN climate change summit in Bonn, represent nearly seven million people, or roughly one in every 10 people on the planet.
The commitments, made under the Global Covenant of Mayors and presented in a new impact document at COP23, demonstrate the unquestionable position of cities around the world to make real and significant impacts to climate action.

Birzeit, West Bank, 6 November 2017 – The Second Palestinian Urban Forum was launched on Monday, 30 October, at Birzeit University under the theme “Localizing the New Urban Agenda: Shaping the Future of Palestinian Cities”. The preliminary session for the Forum took place in Gaza City on October 25, 2017.
