Kisii, Kenya 8 November 2017—A group of youths from Kisii County in Western Kenya who have benefitted from trainings by UN-Habitat and partners were part of the exhibitors at a trade fair held in the town recently.

The global celebration was marked in Guangzhou, China, where Dr Joan Clos, UN-Habitat's Executive Director, delivered his official statement and in Shanghai, where he unveiled an urban statue dedicated to the day, which promotes the challenges and opportunities posed by sustainable urbanization.
