Ta'iz City Profile 2020 Taiz city, located near the port city of Al Makha on the Red Sea, is the Capital of Ta’iz Governorate. It is the third most populated city in Yemen after Aden and Sana’a. This City Profile (CP) examines Ta’iz city, which includes the districts of Al Mudhaffar, Al Qahirah and Salah. The CP further analyzes and describes the situation in the city of Ta’iz across a variety of sectors.

A Harmonized Implementation Framework for the New Urban Agenda in Africa 2020 The framework will guide member States in the region in adapting their plans to the existing context at the subregional, national and subnational levels. It encourages coherence and harmonized implementation of human settlement commitments along the urban-rural continuum, in alignment with African priorities and multiple global commitments.
Analysis of Multiple Deprivations in Secondary Cities in Sub-Saharan Africa 2020 This Analysis Report uses the Index of Multiple Deprivations as an effective diagnostic tool for measuring relative deprivation and inequalities in small areas, such as secondary cities and towns. The analysis shows that by 2050, 6 out 10 people in Africa will live in urban areas and 70 per cent of them will be children and youth.
UN-Habitat Sub-Saharan Africa Atlas 2020 UN-Habitat’s Sub-Saharan Africa Atlas presents a graphic overview on the state of urbanization, regional frameworks and UN-Habitat’s portfolio in the region, as well as a country profile comprised by urbanization status, projects currently under implementation and urban challenges in the countries.
Climate Change Vulnerability and Risk – A Guide for Community Assessments, Action Planning and Implementation 2020 This guide focuses on the processes involved in developing community-based Vulnerability and Risk Assessments and Action Plans, providing general content, tools, and guidance on participatory methodologies and techniques. It may be used to support slum and informal settlements upgrading initiatives or can be used as a stand-alone process tool in support of local action. Case studies from different regions exemplify the processes and methodologies described.
Human Rights, Rule of Law and the New Urban Agenda 2020 Laws and effects of their application can either facilitate or undermine human rights and inclusivity. The urban space represents an area in which the paradoxical nature of legal frameworks is exhibited. On the positive aspect, urban law can provide a framework through which various public and private interests are mediated especially in relation to land use and development. It can offer a stable and predictable framework for public and private sector action and give an avenue for the inclusion of the interests of vulnerable groups. Nonetheless, urban law can also, deliberately or inadvertently, undermine the enjoyment of Human Rights by promoting exclusion, marginalization and poverty.
