Waste Wise Cities Newsletter 9 - February, 2021 2021 The Waste Wise Cities Newsletter is published bi-monthly and provides articles on different waste related topics, e.g. the Sustainable Development Goals, Tools and certain waste management technologies, introduces Waste Wise Cities Affiliates, gives updates about activities and highlights upcoming and past events. At the moment the newsletter is available in English, French and Spanish.
Stakeholder Engagement Session: Kalobeyei Corridor Planning and Spatial Assessment for Kakuma-Kalobeyei 2021 On 28th and 29th September 2020, UN-Habitat and Turkana County Government hosted a two-day virtual workshop to receive feedback and facilitate discussions with County officials on the potential land-use proposals based on existing situational analysis as well as proposals provided by stakeholders from previous multi-sector meetings. This plan would also support the County Government for the conferment process of the proposed Kakuma-Kalobeyei Municipality.

Assessment of vulnerability and response to COVID-19 in the Municipalities of Mozambique 2021 COVID-19 pandemic is affecting urban areas, especially high-density public spaces and informal settlements. Despite the willingness to act, Mozambique Municipalities often lack technical capacities and tools for planning. To support them, UN-Habitat in the context of the Urban Task Force for COVID-19, supported 12 Municipalities to map vulnerabilities of their urban areas and prioritize response actions.
