This Urban Resilience Action Plan (URAP) for Kerkennah archipelago, Tunisia, was developed under the global UN-Habitat project “Accelerating the implementation of the Paris Agreement by building the climate resilience of the urban poor.”
The URAP is based on a “multilayered vulnerability assessment” (MVA) covering urban, climate, and biodiversity dimensions, and identifying priority areas for intervention (hotspots) such as Kellabine, Attaya, and Kraten.
These areas are affected by rising sea levels, degradation of natural habitats, uncontrolled urbanization, and increased pressure on natural resources.
The Kerkennah URAP proposes 33 projects centered around these objectives, including 14 priority actions approved in collaboration with Kerkennah municipality. These projects cover investment, governance, awareness-raising, and ecological restoration initiatives.
