This policy document articulates UN-HABITAT’s role with regard to human settlements in crisis. It responds to Resolution HSP/GC/20/17 and supporting documents produced in response to Resolution HSP/GC/19/9 in relation to “Post-conflict, natural and human-made disaster assessment and reconstruction”.

This study falls within the UN-HABITAT goal to develop the capacities of municipalities in South Lebanon to undertake strategic development planning. UN-HABITAT has been operating in South Lebanon since 2007 in the aftermath of the July 2006 war on Lebanon in both recovery/reconstruction projects and capacity building for municipalities and unions of municipalities.

The Millennium Development Goal 7 target 10 targets access to safe drinking water supply and basic sanitation to the under privileged.

Urban centers in India are facing an ironical situation with regard to water today.

Sanitation services are necessary to support urban stability, enable social balance, economic growth and development and are imperative for the improvement of urban public services.

The goal of this document is to make evident the situation of young people living at risk in Latin America and to propose policies to face this problem.
