UN-Habitat’s Catalogue of Services provides the current range of ways in which the organization can support national and local governments, partners and stakeholders to address their development challenges and advance sustainable and inclusive urban development using its services, expertise and tools.

This publication - #Housing2030: Effective policies for affordable housing in the UNECE region – was developed within #Housing2030, a joint international initiative of UNECE, UN-Habitat and Housing Europe. It explores housing affordability challenges and existing policy instruments for improving housing affordability in the UNECE region and facilitates the exchange and dissemination of good practices in improving housing affordability among countries and cities of the region.

En el marco de la asistencia técnica para formular la Política Nacional de Desarrollo Integral de las Ciudades (PNDIC) y con el apoyo de la Agencia Sueca de Desarrollo Internacional (ASDI), ONU-Habitat ha realizado un estudio y propuesta metodológica para identificar la configuración del sistema de ciudades de Bolivia, incluida su caracterización general, con miras a recuperar la mirada de la escala urbana nacional en la gestión del territorio nacional.

The Handbook for “Building Participatory Accountability Systems for City Policies” offers guidance on how to develop urban projects and interventions through a participatory and consultative approach with city stakeholders, while allowing for flexibility to tailor interventions to the specific needs of individual cities and regions.

The Global State of National Urban Policy 2021 report reviews the NUPs of 162 countries across the world. Building on the first edition launched in 2018, the report takes stock and provides analysis of form, scope, and stage of development of NUP for policymakers and urban professionals. As such, this global monitoring aims to unpack how and in what forms NUPs have been developed, implemented and assessed globally.

UN-Habitat’s first Policy, Legislation and Governance (PLGS) Annual Report highlights the section’s implementation of the Strategic Plan 2020-2023 for 2020. The Annual Report features the section’s and its partners’ contributions and results realized across various key programmes and projects at the local, national, regional and global levels between November 2019 and the end of 2020.

This Diagnosis Note analyses the issues raised in the feasibility phase: it identifies urban trends in Liberia, priority opportunities and challenges. It also proposes key areas for consideration during policy formulation. The report is intended to be useful to policy makers and stakeholders involved in Liberia’s NUP development. It also has useful information for other local and national governments involved in a similar process.

The National Urban Policy Programme (NUPP) remains a pivotal tool towards promotion and achievement of transformative, inclusive, green, productive and resilient urban development. Over the last six years, NUP has done this through shared responsibility and deliberate consultation between UN-Habitat and respective countries globally. Subnational Urban Policy: A Guide, is an instrument to support urban management for governments and stakeholders, especially at the subnational level. It is based on experiences collected at different levels of sub-national governments and regions around the world. It broadens knowledge and commitment to better understand what subnational urban policies are, what they are for, who benefits from them, and the problems they try to solve.
