UN-Habitat is seeking local NGOs/CSOs for the "My Home, My Neighborhood" project to secure Housing, Land, and Property (HLP) rights and improve informal settlements.
The project aims to improve living conditions for inhabitants and returnees in informal settlements by documenting HLP claims, digitally archiving records, and fostering social cohesion through community-led initiatives.
Locations
Partners may apply for one or both of the following lots (separate proposals required)
- Lot 1 (Aleppo): Fardos, Al-Sukkari, Karm Al-dodo ($350,000).
- Lot 2 (Homs): Al-Bayada, Deir Ba’albah, Al-Sabil ($300,000).
Goal: Enhance tenure security, document claims, and boost social cohesion through community initiatives.
Key Activities
- Community Engagement: Building trust through social events and awareness campaigns,.
- Claims Documentation: Door-to-door registration of informal HLP rights and cadastral scanning.
- Community-Based Initiatives: Implementing "Claiming Our Space" initiatives (e.g., murals, cleaning playgrounds) to reclaim public spaces

An online informative session will be held on Monday 26 January 2026 at 11:00 am Syria time to ensure all project details are briefed. To attend the session, please send an email to unhabitat-syria@un.org, by 25 January 2026 the latest, expressing interest and an MS Teams invitation link will be shared with you accordingly.
