Fundamentals of Planned Urbanization: Training Companion 2019 The Fundamentals of Planned Urbanization is a training companion on the principles of planned urbanization. It supports UN-Habitat’s efforts to develop human resources and institutional capacity for the implementation of the New Urban Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goal 11 (SDG 11).

The companion includes eight modules on the state of urbanization in the world, global agreements on urbanization, fundamentals of planned urbanization, planned city extensions, housing, urban mobility, slum upgrading and climate change. All modules are accompanied by presentations, interactive exercises, case studies, and opportunities for peer-to-peer exchange, and can be conducted over the course of a five-day training. Depending on interest and time available, the training can be tailored to focus on more specific topics and/or made shorter.

Evaluation of the Project for City Resilience in Afghanistan April 2017 - March 2019 (2/2019) 2019 This project was funded by the Government of Japan with a budget of USD 3,296,800. The evaluation was conducted at the request of UN-Habitat and is part of UN-Habitat’s effort to perform systematic and timely evaluations of its projects and to ensure that UN-Habitat evaluations provide a full representation of its mandate and activities.
Tabuk City Profile 2019 The City Profile Report brings together diagnostic urban analysis and aligns that analysis with the UN-Habitat sustainable development framework to achieve the Saudi Vision 2030, NUA and SDGs. This tool helps in understanding the current while guiding the future planning of the city, whilst defining a clear strategy for sustainable development. This tool considers spatial planning in relation to legal aspects and Municipal and Local economy mechanisms.
Urban October Report 2018 2019 Every October UN-Habitat and partners organize a month of activities, events and discussions on urban sustainability. In 2018 Urban October celebrations began with World Habitat Day on 1 October on the theme of Municipal Solid Waste Management. The global observance was hosted by the Government of Kenya in Nairobi. Urban October ended with the World Cities Day global observance being celebrated in Liverpool, United Kingdom on 31 October with the theme Building Sustainable and Resilient Cities. Local, regional and national authorities and partners were encouraged to organize activities and register them.
