UN-Habitat country programme Mozambique 2018-2021 2018 UN-Habitat is the United Nations programme working towards a better urban future. Its mission is to promote socially and environmentally sustainable human settlements development and the achievement of adequate shelter for all.
UN-Habitat has been working in Mozambique since 2002. Throughout the past years, UN-Habitat has built a strong position in the country and has worked closely with the Government of Mozambique and its partners. Currently UN-Habitat is working with teams based in Maputo, Nampula and Quelimane on projects concerning seven provinces. UN-Habitat 2-day Rapid Planning Studio, support to Kenya Municipal Programme for Kakamega, Kericho and Uasin Gishu Counties 2017 In 2012, UN-Habitat developed a training methodology called Rapid Planning Studio to help cities and local governments develop practical, feasible approaches to implementing urban planning interventions. The 2-day training for Kenya Municipal Programme (KMP) counties was conducted based on this RPS methodology, to provide decision makers and planners in the counties with enhanced capacity to formulate an Integrated Strategic Urban Development Plan (ISUDP).
Shanghai Manual 2017 Annual Report 2017 The 2017 report will focus on the topic of urban governance. Building on descriptions of urban governance concepts, different urban governance models, and development trends in urban governance, the report will analyze existing problems and major challenges facing global urban governance from a practical perspective. In addition, the report will put forward overall strategic choices, specific strategies and decision-making advice for realizing the various visions of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the New Urban Agenda, in the hope of providing the much-needed guidance for the implementation of these two major UN agreements. When selecting global urban governance solutions, the report focuses in particular on how to facilitate sustainable urban development through urban governance, including content on urban public spaces, public services, housing, infrastructure, urban renewal and the smart city.
