مؤشر ازدهار المدن , هو بحكم التعريف، مؤشر متعدد الأبعاد
ومن ثم، يتحدد ازدهار أي مدينة استناداً إلى مجموعة من العوامل أو
الأبعاد المتعلقة بتصورات المدينة المزدهرة. يتكون مؤشر ازدهار
المدن من ستة أبعاد والتي تصف جوانب مختلفة من الازدهار الحضري
وفقا لمعايير برنامج الأمم المتحدة للمستوطنات البشرية - الموئل:
الإنتاجية، تنمية وتطوير البنية التحتية، نوعية الحياة، العدالة والاندماج،

Nairobi, 22 July 2014—The Federal Republic of Nigeria on Tuesday signed an agreement with United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) which seeks, among other objectives, to promote urban youth empowerment.
The agreement was penned at the UN-Habitat headquarters in Nairobi by the Federal Minister of Youth Development Mr. Boni Haruna and UN-Habitat’s Deputy Executive Director Dr. Aisa Kirabo.
Nairobi, 15 July 2014: With support from UN-Habitat, the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology has launched a Masters in Sustainable Urban Development, as well as Doctoral programmes by research and thesis in areas of urban studies.
The course will be offered under the Centre for Urban Studies, established in 2013 by the School of Architecture and Building Sciences in partnership with UN-Habitat, to guide in research, training and development of innovative ideas that will help tackle the inherent complex and diverse issues in urban settings.

Emerging from the Special Session on 'Building Urban Resilience' organised by UN-Habitat, at the 5th Africa Regional Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction in Abuja, Nigeria, city governments and stakeholders have recommended several critical inputs in order to reduce the risk to the continent of the impact of disasters, both natural and man-made.
