Rini Rachmawati serves as a professor in Urban Geography at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Indonesia, specializing in smart city and urban development. She is the Director of the Center for Southeast Asian Social Studies and heads the Master Program in Regional Development at UGM. Her involvement extends to organizations like ForUm Network, AURA, IAP, IGI, APIC, and she is an IEEE Smart Community Member. Rachmawati has coordinated UGM's Summer Course on Smart City, Village, and Region, and leads related research groups. She also plays a key role as supervisor and evaluator for Indonesia's 100 Movement Toward Smart City and contributes to the National Urban Forum on Smart Cities.
