The project aims to recycle solid waste for energy in Ghana. In addition to energy, the entire value chain is also considered in a way that closes the carbon and nutrient cycle to ensure sustainability. A novel 400 kW hybrid PV, biogas and pyrolysis plant is planned as a pilot plant to treat the waste in a community. The pilot plant will be tailored based on physical and chemical properties. A model will be developed to guide replication of the plant-based on scenarios specific to Ghana.
