RUNRES: The rural-urban nexus – Establishing a nutrient loop to improve city region food system resilience
This Project will help to install and promote best waste management Practices such as waste separation at source and also increase soil fertility by producing best organic compost for soil Nutrient thus increasing productivity and income for individual farmers and Cooperatives that are operating in Kamonyi District – Rwanda.
In order to achieve invariable and greater Market demand, this project will focus on producing High quality compost product and will engage various actors in supplying recycled Nutrients such as small-scale farmers, agro dealers and distributors. Providing agricultural producers and input retailers with an organic fertilizer at a competitive price will help to compete with other distributors of inorganic fertilizers on the Market (NPK& Urea).
