To support the flagship programme ‘People-Centered Smart Cities’, UN-Habitat is looking for good examples of people-centered smart city initiatives for a new compendium on people-centered smart cities. We would like to include solutions developed around the world by government agencies, international institutions, NGO’s research institutions and private companies.

The compendium will be a web-based platform based on an interactive map that showcases smart city initiatives, solutions and initiatives that make a positive impact to the quality of life of people in cities, communities and regions. Examples can come from a broad range of fields and include digital platforms, mobile applications, research, guidelines, platforms, networks, initiatives, projects, policy frameworks and training courses that show the use of technology for better access to urban services, better participation in urban management, capacity building at national and local level, urban governance, better transparency, digital transformation of cities and communities, digital inclusion, etc. We are particularly interested in finding examples of how technology has been used to improve the lives of the most vulnerable.
