India-Norway cooperation project on capacity building for reducing plastic and chemical pollution in India (INOPOL)

The main objective of the project is to build knowledge and capacity to tackle plastic and chemical pollution from sources within key industries, public sector, and civil society. Main goals will be to provide science-based knowledge that will support India’s ambitious targets to reduce plastic releases and to implement the Stockholm Convention on persistent organic pollutants. By developing knowledge on release sources and sharing experiences and best-practices on technology, regulation, and management, INOPOL will strengthen the local and regional capacity to prevent and mitigate the environmental threat posed by plastic and chemical pollution.
