Abstract
Land is a key economic resource inextricably linked to access to, use of and control over other economic and productive resources and livelihoods. Especially in rural and peri-urban areas, agricultural land is a key input for agricultural production; it can be used as collateral to access financial resources, extension services or producer organizations. In both rural and urban areas, if rented or sold, land can generate income.
