UN-Habitat is inviting Member States to nominate a maximum of two experts per country to form an Expert Working Group (EWG) that will support the development of ‘International Guidelines on People-Centered Smart Cities’. This request follows the approval by Member States at the UN-Habitat Assembly of the Resolution HSP/HA.2/Res.1, mandating UN-Habitat to develop international guidelines.
Member States are invited to identify experts in the areas specified in the Terms of Reference below and invite a maximum of two experts per country, as possible candidates to be selected to join the Expert Working Group, to fill the application.
Nominations must be supported by a letter of recommendation/nomination issued and signed by the nominating government of the country.
The final composition will ensure that the Expert Working Group is geographically representative, gender-balanced and reflects an interdisciplinary composition, and includes various levels of government, among other considerations, to the extent feasible.
Only complete applications received through the online form will be considered.
The window for nomination will close at 23:59 CET on 12 October 2023.
Evaluation of nominees will be conducted on the basis of the nominee's suitability, capacity, and willingness to contribute to the Expert Working Group overall objectives.
We look forward to receiving your nominations for this very important work.
