Background:
UN-Habitat invites Expressions of Interest (EOI) from eligible entities to undertake various water supply and sanitation activities aimed at improving access to clean water and sanitation in poor and peri-urban communities within Kigoma Region. The selected entity will receive funding and enter into a Cooperation Agreement (AoC) with UN-Habitat for the implementation of this project for a period of up to four months. The agreement will outline the expected outputs and deliverables.
Scope of Work:
- Extend water supply systems to serve at least three poor and peri-urban communities/suburbs: Kalalangabo, Kazegunga, Msanga, and Msimba.
- Connect improved disability-friendly pit latrines in Kasulu (Kalema Inclusive School) with water supply and construct a 5,000-liter water storage tank.
- Connect Kamara Health Center in Kigoma Ujiji with water supply by constructing an elevated structure and supplying a 5,000-liter water storage tank.
- Capacity building for 10 CBWSOs (5 in Kasulu DC, 5 in Kigoma DC) and Kasulu WSSA, including procurement of water flow meters and laptops (selected 5 CBWSOs from each district from the list below):

- Construct improved pit latrines in 10 selected schools in Uvinza District Council (select 10 schools from the list provided below): Machazo, Kampande, Azimio, Mapinduzi, Mlela, Airport, Rubona, Kaguruka, Mandela, Lugongoni "B", Kamiyovu, Chakulu, Kilimahewa, Sunzu, Mulubanga, Ilunde, Umoja, Muyobozi, Lugongo, Kabeba, Sabasaba, Itebula, Mpeta, Kasisi, Nguruka, Lugongoni "A"
- Establish School WASH (SWASH) clubs in each school where improved pit latrines will be constructed.
Eligibility Criteria:
Eligible entities must meet the following criteria:
- Government and non-governmental organizations with the establishment in Kigoma region.
- Demonstrated experience in water supply and sanitation projects.
- Financial and technical capacity to implement the proposed activities.
- Experience in working with local government authorities and communities.
- Ability to complete the tasks within the stipulated timeline
- The agency must have properly maintained financial records audited by qualified and competent registered auditors.
- Additionally, it must have been established for at least two years and have at least two audited financial statements.
Submission Requirements:
Interested organizations must submit the following:
- A brief technical proposal outlining the approach to delivering the required services.
- Financial proposal indicating costs for each activity.
