This series of assessments, conducted by UN-Habitat Lebanon, the University of Balamand, and the Center for Environmental Research of the Eastern Mediterranean (CREEMO) at Saint Joseph University, examines the impact of the recent conflict in Lebanon on the built environment. Focused on the South, Nabatiyeh, Bekaa and Baalbek-Hermel governorates, the study uses satellite imagery and pre-conflict data to evaluate the extent of building destruction and estimate debris quantities.

The assessments identify total and partial destruction of buildings and units, as well as calculates debris generated from the destroyed buildings, thus providing critical baseline data for recovery and reconstruction efforts. The findings aim to inform future housing rehabilitation and sustainable debris management practices, laying the groundwork for rebuilding impacted communities.
