The New Urban Agenda Illustrated Handbook 2020 The New Urban Agenda Illustrated handbook prepared for all urban stakeholders globally supports a stronger understanding and implementation of the propositions contained in the New Urban Agenda.
The handbook analyses the contents and propositions of the New Urban Agenda and their synergies with the Sustainable Development Goals and Targets, and enriches them with visual illustrations, examples from all over the world and practical propositions for action.
Rapport de l’examen participatif du Schéma national d’aménagement du territoire 1991 de Guinée 2020 En 1991, la Guinée s’est dotée d’un outil de maîtrise de la croissance urbaine rapide, à savoir le Schéma National d’Aménagement du Territoire (SNAT) dont la finalité générale consistait à « modifier et optimiser la répartition des individus et de leurs activités sur le territoire national dans un souci d’équilibre géographique, d’épanouissement social, d’efficacité économique et environnementale ». Le présent rapport porte sur l’examen participatif de la mise en œuvre de cet outil.
Financing for Resilient and Green Urban Solutions in Cebu, Philippines 2020 This report: Financing for Resilient and Green Urban Solutions in Cebu, Philippines examines the status of housing and urban infrastructure and how much investment
is needed. The assessment particularly considered the status of housing finance instruments and costs, as well as the roles of local and national governments in facilitating investments. The report was also anchored on determining whether the identified investment needs address resilient housing and infrastructure and assessed challenges to financing such green urban solutions in Cebu City and in the Philippines in general.

It also examines the financial instruments and their impacts on the financial systems and identifies potential practical projects.
Urban Impact issue 09/First quarter 2020 2020 This issue of Urban Impact is dedicated to the outstanding success of the 10th Session of the World Urban Forum held in Abu Dhabi in February. Prominence is also given to UN-Habitat’s immediate efforts to support precautionary and remedial efforts by local governments to help prepare the most vulnerable communities face the challenges of the COVID -19 global pandemic. An emergency fund of USD 1.3 million has been allocated to support 13 high impact projects across all continents through our regional offices. We will need to raise an initial funding of USD 100 million to channel support to these crucial stakeholders.
Also featured in this issue are the relevance of the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG11 and other urban-related SDGs; the need to address inequality in cities; the lack of investments in public infrastructure; much-needed reforms in local governance; the right to shelter and housing, and the importance of job security.

The case study in General Escobedo, Mexico, illustrates the actions, results, and strength of this approach.
An Analysis of Flood Risk and Urban Resilience in Beledweyne 2020 Beledweyne, the largest city of Hishabelle Sate of Somalia, has constantly suffered from devastating floods. Over the past decade, floods have increased in magnitude and recurrence, reaching alarming levels by 2019, where 68% of the city was flooded.

Students from the Institute for Cooperation in Basic Habitability (ICHaB-ETSAM) and colleagues from UN-Habitat Somalia Programme have jointly developed this working paper. It aims to establish the spatial basis for flood risk analysis and urban resilience of Beledweyne.

ICHaB-ETSAM is an academic institution that belongs to the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM). Since its foundation in 1995, ICHAB has continuously carried out teaching, research and awareness-raising activities in the field of basic habitability with a special focus upon informal settlements.
This working paper has been developed under Midnimo II (Unity) project - Support for the Attainment of Durable Solutions in Areas Impacted by Displacement and Returns in Galmudug and Hirshabelle States, funded by United Nations Peacebuilding Fund. This study has been conceived as a first step to explore long-term solutions to make the city of Beledweyne, including its most vulnerable communities, more resilient to floods and other natural hazards.
