Assessment of Malawi Legislation through the Urban Law Module of the Law and Climate Change Toolkit FULL REPORT 2022 UN-Habitat, the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Regional Programme Energy Security and Climate Change in Sub-Saharan Africa (KAS), and the University of Michigan (United States of America), through the project on Urban Law for Resilient and Low Carbon Urban Development in Malawi, Namibia, and Zimbabwe, were able to assess the capacity of climate laws and policies in Malawi to adapt to climate change.
Global framework for the response to malaria in urban areas 2022 This framework supports the control and elimination of malaria in urban environments. It guides city leaders, health programmes and urban planners as they respond to the challenges of rapid urbanisation in a targeted way. For each urban context, the strategic use of data can inform effective, tailored responses and help build resilience against the threat of malaria and other vector-borne diseases.

Leaving no one behind - How a global instrument to end plastic pollution can enable a just transition for the people informally collecting and recovering waste 2022 This report provides an overview on the importance of the Informal Waste and Recovery Sector (IWRS) for ending plastic pollution. It outlines how the current negotiations towards a global instrument to end plastic pollution can leverage a just transition of the IWRS. It calls for the just transition of the IWRS to be fair, inclusive, and equitable, generating and preserving decent work opportunities in a way that leaves no one behind.
– Support for the Reconstruction and Rehabilitation of Most Vulnerable Urban Areas in Beirut Impacted by the Port Explosion 2022 In March 2021, through a US$ 2.16 million grant from the Government of Japan, UN-Habitat initiated a project to address urgent urban recovery and reconstruction needs of Beirut. In line with Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development, the objective of the project is to support the recovery and rehabilitation of Beirut through building back better, targeting vulnerable population groups and neighbourhoods, impacted by the explosion.
