Dajopen Waste Management Project  is a legally registered community based organization which  addresses  the Socio-Economic, Environmental conditions of the vulnerable communities of the informal settlement, while addressing the plight of small scale farmers through making of organic fertilizer and other recycled products from waste. The collection and recycling of garbage from the dumping sites has benefited over 220,000 people in Kitale town. Heaps of garbage which were dumped around their houses, offices and market places have been collected and recycled. Solid waste management is the options for Green energy, Food security and Climate change mitigation.
