NAMA – GIZ project ‘Development and Management of NAMA in India’ (Waste)

Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMA) phase II project under UNFCCC carried out by TERI with GIZ, India is facilitating implementation of low carbon measures with the objective to reduce GHG emissions from solid waste sector in Goa and Varanasi. Project explores source segregation measures for different stakeholders, assisting city access to international funding for its implementation activities and exploring feasible technological options such as RDF co-processing in cement plants, composting, and bio methanation. Emphasis on piloting initiatives and capacity building through setting up training programs, awareness raising workshops, and best practices.
