The Eleventh Session of the World Urban Forum in Katowice ended with a call to act to advance sustainable development. The premier UN conference on urbanization took place on 26-30 June 2022 in Katowice, Poland. It was the first World Urban Forum that was held in Eastern Europe.

The five-day event featured over 400 events and around 700 speakers from government, civil society, communities, academia, and the private sector. More than 17,000 participants from 155 countries joined the forum in person or online.

Discussions culminated in a set of Katowice Declared Actions which will take the sustainable development agenda forward to the Twelfth Session of the World Urban Forum in Cairo, Egypt in January 2024.

Participants declared their voluntary actions and commitments for the next two years and beyond.
