The 2026 Partnership Forum of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) will take place on 27 January 2026 at the UN Headquarters in New York under the theme “Transformative, equitable, innovative and coordinated actions for the 2030 Agenda and its SDGs for a sustainable future for all”.

In the context of the global SDG 11 review at the High-Level Political Forum 2026, UN-Habitat, together with its partners, is organizing two events at the ECOSOC Partnerships Forum 2026 as follows:

1. SDG Action Segment for Goal 11, 12.00 PM - 01.00 PM, 27 January 2026 (concept note)

2. SDG 11 Side Event at ECOSOC Partnerships Forum: Accelerating evidence-based action and partnerships for SDG 11, 27 January 2026, 13:15 – 14:30 (concept note)

The events are expected to:

• Strengthen and deepen partnerships to advance action-oriented approaches for accelerating SDG 11 progress
• Generate concrete and policy-relevant inputs to inform the 2026 High-level Political Forum review of SDG 11 and the global SDG 11 synthesis report
• Leverage stakeholder's and partners perspectives for improving the relevance, inclusiveness, and impact of SDG 11 action
• Emphasize the role of local action and the leadership of local and regional governments (LRGs) in advancing SDG 11

The events are also taking place in the context of the mid-term review of the New Urban Agenda in 2026, providing further opportunities for advancing accelerators for global urban sustainable development.
