We would like to invite you to a Digital Rights Helpdesk design session on March 17, 2021 18:00 - 19:00 CET, at Mozilla Festival event, in collaboration with Cities Coalition for Digital Rights (CC4DR) and Beta NYC. The Digital Rights Helpdesk is expected to support city-governments in addressing the ethical and digital rights aspects of their local digital strategies, policies and projects.
Through this event, you will be able to contribute to the design of a Digital Rights Helpdesk and learn from a diverse group of participants representing cities and experts in the field of digital rights and broader digital governance. Please feel free to forward this invitation to your partners in cities and others who might be interested. Kindly find attached the flyers for the event.
With a worldwide network of over 50 cities, the Cities Coalition for Digital Rights is a practical platform to promote digital rights-based policy making in cities. The Coalition is supported by UN-Habitat and focuses on building the capacity of cities in the area of digital rights, and digital inclusion through all available mechanisms including policy, planning and procurement processes.
Through the Digital Rights Helpdesk, cities can
- Request for a rapid-development team of international city-experts that can help them setup a local Digital Rights Governance Framework.
- Get feedback on their local strategies and policies from local and global expert-community.
- Learn how to set up a local Digital Rights Helpdesk.
While this initiative is just getting started, we expect this workshop to be the ‘Kick-off’ of the Helpdesk. This session is open to all, but especially geared toward city stakeholders as well as organizations and individuals who would want to take part in the design and implementation.
