Description

The US Global Development Lab & USAID's Regional Development Mission for Asia (RDMA), together with the United Nations Development Programme, UN Habitat, and UN Global Pulse are hosting an Urban Futures Workshop in Bangkok, Thailand from October 14 - 15, 2014.

This important thought leadership event will bring together donor organizations, city officials, academic researchers, technology companies, and development NGOs to explore the future of cities in Asia and discuss some of the major challenges and opportunities facing Asian cities as the result of both rapid urbanization and climate change. The workshop will offer development leaders a longer and broader view on these issues by looking at different scenarios, models, and forecasts from experts in the field, and will showcase science and technology-based approaches for building urban resilience.  By bringing together diverse stakeholders and showcasing state-of the-art examples, the Urban Futures Workshop aims to accelerate the uptake of innovative and effective approaches for building urban resilience.
