Planning and control of urban development: turning ideas into action
The Government of Cameroon is organizing the first National Urban Forum "FUN" with the theme: "Planning and Managing Urban Development: Turning ideas into action" . It will develop a shared position on the problem of controlling the development of our cities, the consequences of uncontrolled urban growth, but especially to advocate for coordination inherent in land management activities and urban planning. The FUN is in the wake of the World Urban Forum, a meeting that brings together all 02 years, those involved in the search for appropriate solutions to the problems of rapid urbanization and its impact on the population, economy, environmental and habitat.
Forum activities
The approach taken in FUN is the organization of work in segments of dialogue. The Forum will focus on:
1. Plenary meetings of the focus and themes of dialogues
2. Meetings sub-working group under sub themes
- Planning and urban governance;
- Land policy and slum prevention;
- Urban Services
3 Special Sessions. They provide platforms for discussion (for the government partners, civil society, private sector, international organizations, academics ...) on specific topics related to the city.
4 Exhibition
- Exposure in the pits on best practices and technological innovations in the urban sector
- Cultural events
