This issue of the Urban-LEDS Project Newsletter #1 focuses on low emission development in cities. The project “Promoting Low Emission Urban Development Strategies in Emerging Economy Countries” (Urban-LEDS) is funded by the European Commission, and implemented by UN-Habitat and ICLEI-Local Governments for Sustainability (ICLEI). Its objective is to enhance the transition to low emission urban development in emerging economy countries by offering selected local governments a comprehensive methodological framework to integrate low-carbon strategies into all sectors of urban planning and development.
