Abstract

The Government of Bolivia presented the national urban policy, called “Política de Ciudades”, which was prepared with technical assistance from the United Nations Human Settlements Program - UN-Habitat and the cooperation of Sweden.

The Cities Policy becomes the strategic instrument for guiding urban development in Bolivia, which identifies and proposes State action measures to address the great challenges and take advantage of the opportunities posed by the urbanization process.

This State policy is the result of a broad and plural participatory process lasting two and a half years, which promoted the holding of around 250 workshops and forums with the participation of more than 7,000 representatives from all sectors of the country.
