General Information

The three-day course will discuss the overall development of the different phases of government involvement in housing policy development and by the end of the course, participants will be able to design a policy strategy and prepare a policy document to tackle the housing problem in their countries. At the same time enhancing governmental understanding for enabling housing policies and delegation of housing decision-making. 

Objective

By the end of the course, participants will be able to design a policy strategy and prepare a policy document to tackle the housing problem in any the GCC regions they reside at. They will understand the different roles played by the government when moving away from conventional housing delivery systems to a more enabling environment, building on these experiences to design a suitable response in their country.

This course is expected to enhance government understanding for enabling housing policies and delegation of housing decision-making. The specific course objectives are to:

  • Understand the housing sector in general and specifically for Kuwait 
  • Understand housing markets in general and specifically for Kuwait 

Having developed basic skills to: 

  • Design a housing policy strategy 
  • Develop policy interventions 
  • Develop a housing policy document
