23 August 2017, Nairobi – As co-host of a conference on Cities and Climate Change Science to be held in March 2018, UN-Habitat and its partners are calling for proposals for events and abstracts for oral session contributions.

Under the title: Fostering new scientific knowledge for cities based on science, practice and policy, the conference, which will take place in Edmonton, Canada, aims to inspire the next frontier of research focused on the science of cities and climate change.

The conference will assess the current state of academic and practice-based knowledge around climate change and identify gaps, as well as convene partners from across the spectrum and share best practice. Ultimately, the aim is to stimulate research underpinning effective and efficient urban responses to climate change, as well as to provide inputs to the products of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

The call for applications is open until 6 October 2017 and interested applicants should see the full information here
