This report provides an overview of the cooperation between the European Union and UN-Habitat over from 2014-2020 which corresponds to the EU’s last Multiannual Financial Framework. It provides key data on funding received by UN-Habitat for programmes around the world and gives impact stories from a selection of programmes. It also outlines next steps for cooperation.

This Regional Representation Strategy for Africa shows a paradigm shift towards sustainable urbanisation as an engine for growth by proactively tackling urban challenges while simultaneously leveraging the opportunities presented by the phenomenon itself.

Following the model of the other agencies of the United Nations System, the 2008 – 2009 UN-HABITAT Country Programme has its sources within the national priorities defined by the Poverty Reduction Strategic Framework. It falls under the United Nations 2006 – 2010 Plan jointly elaborated by the resident and non resident UN agencies with the representative entities of the national counterpart.
