The Executive Board of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) will convene its first session for 2025 from 25–27 March at the UN-Habitat headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya. The Executive Board plays a critical role in enhancing the oversight, accountability, and transparency of UN-Habitat operations.

During the session, discussions will focus on key financial, budgetary, and administrative matters, as well as an update on the draft work programme of UN-Habitat and the draft budget of the United Nations Habitat and Human Settlements Foundation for 2026. The Board will also receive an update on the preparation of, and possible recommendation for, the draft strategic plan of UN-Habitat for the period 2026–2029.

Additional agenda items include a review of the implementation of UN-Habitat’s normative and operational activities and an update on the implementation of resolutions adopted by the United Nations Habitat Assembly.
